First timer looking for best route.

We are first timers RV in. We are towing a tt. We are leaving Lacrosse WI at the end of December. I'm thinking of driving about 300 miles the first day. Heading to Central AL. I cannot find a place that is open in IL. Plus if we boongock we need to open a slide to get to our bed. Is this acceptable? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are quite a few open all year in IL. Go to Allstays.com and click on the "open all year" option for IL. Shouldn't be a problem finding a cg. Then check the campground out in campgroundreviews.com. Also, call the cg and confirm they are really open.

You will find that you need to go to multiple systems to find campgrounds. There is not one system that has everything.

As a newbie I would not advise winter boondocking. Having electricity is very nice in the winter.

Welcome to the RV world.
