Cody Wyoming

You better have a RV reservation in Cody Wyoming...long before you get there is my advise. I will say they have a nice historic down town area and nightly theater shows....which was well worth while. The best attraction there is the Cody Wild West Museum. #1 best thing to see. They sell you a two day ticket and it is well worth it...surely if they still have the "Smithsonian Western Gun" Exhibit there. Also we found that the Local WALMART has lots of trailer tires in all sizes...HA! And they were very RV FRIENDLY...as we waited for our tires to arrive the following day. We call Walmart the "Wall March'e RV" Lodging.

Hi Bob, We are planning a similar trip, leaving Tampa April 1 and headed west through TX and AZ. We need to be near Las Vegas so my wife can fly home May 5 for a week and then we will continue north to Yellowstone. Let me know if you want to compare plans, still developing.

Jim

The Grand Canyon National Park is actually an hour dive north of I-40 and Williams, AZ.

The Trailer Village RV Park is within the Park boundaries and can handle big-rigs and has FHU. OR you can stay at a CG in Williams and ride the Grand Canyon Railroad north into the park.

A little southeast of Amarillo, TX is Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Commonly known as "The Grand Canyon of Texas". Western OK and TX panhandle we hit strong crosswinds, even semi-trucks were slowing down. Literally, thousands of wind turbines along this stretch.

We stopped at the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest Nat'l Parks. You can take the exit off I-40 and drive all thru the parks. No problems with bridges as the only one went over I-40 from the Painted Desert south into the Petrified Forest. We stayed in Holbrook, AZ, that night. Also, along I-40 in AZ is the Meteor Crater.
