Trip Planning

I certainly understand your concerns as I had the same ones myself!

I logged 8,000 miles this year from Tennessee to the West Coast and back using the Rand McNally RVND-7735-LM. Once you enter your RV HEIGHT & LENGTH to rand it will allow you to restrict things like U-turns, pay-tolls, low bridges, etc., It comes with a free trip planner (computer hook up) for you can simply enter Longitude, Latitude, or destination address straight into the device to route your trip.

The 7735 tracks your milage, fuel cost, and speed as well as elevation and POI (points of interest). Also, it will locate rest stops, fuel stations, restaurants, and much more. I purchased a "Traffic" add-on that re-routes me if necessary and shows construction areas ahead. The "LM" is for lifetime map renewals or updates and are updated from your GPS by way of the Rand McNally Dock on your computer.

I found many websites that provide free data that allows you to enter POI's into the 7735. Although not always exact, they are helpful (such as, GPS locations of national parks or walmarts, etc)

I hope this helps. There is many apps and more info that I can share but I don't want to "blow-up" this thread. Contact me if you wish.
