Ontario to Guatemala

HI All,

I just joined. My wife and I are in the planning stages to do a trip from Ontario to Guatemala hauling a travel trailer. We will be departing about this time next year. Spending the winter in Guatemala and maybe traveling around Central America a bit. There does not seem to be a lot of info on RV life for Guatemala. Any info you can share will be appreciated.

Welcome to iRV2.

Questions .
1. Ontario CANADA, or Ontario CALIFORNIA ?

2. Have you read up on all the political unrest in central America ?

JMHO: There are huge sections of Mexico , where I wouldn't take my RV let alone into Central American countries where locals by the thousands are risking their lives to get out.

EDIT: Do a Google search and check out the many sites with warnings about , travel , safety and security in Guatemala.

We went to all the Central American countries last year on a 19 day cruise.

Have you ever been to Central America?

Guatemala RVing and Camping

Having lived and traveled Guatemala over 25+ years, I would be happy to share my information with you. My most recent trip was 3 months ago with a Diesel F350 and Lance camper,

The distance to the Guatemala border is 1200 miles from Texas, fantastic camping at the AUTOMARISCOS camping resort, with full hook ups, natural hot springs, and 6 natural pools, seafood restaurant, jacuzzi, and wave pool.

PM me for more info. Maps and road logs available from adventuretrek dot com

Ontario, Canada close to Toronto will be our departure point.

As noted we will not be leaving until this time next year. If the unrest continues we may look at alternate plans.

We have been to Guatemala before and were captivated by the people and country. Our trip will probably consist of hooking up with NGOs to help out where we can.

Thanks all for the input.

Free updated mex, centra and SO Amer info

Free updated Rv and expat information is available on the adventuretrek com website. They travel at least every 90 days from USA to Panama and also every year to South America via RV. Also paper maps and travel road logs are available there.

Guatemala is ofter referred to as Hawaii without the price tag , eternal springtime weather.
