Park filtering on the map

In an attempt to reduce the number of CGs shown on the map I've clicked on Parks and chosen 4 stars or greater and Big Rigs. After save and close there is no change on the icons on the map. I do see filter results on the Parks tab but that's not very useful. Do choices under the Parks button not affect the map icons?

I don't think it does, but I wish it would. I have tried what you are trying several times. It shows a list of campgrounds, but it does not change the icons on the map.

Maybe this could be something that could be added.

I just tested this. Made changes to limit the view and saved. Changes were not shown until I zoomed out and back in, which initiated a re-draw, but there were definitely fewer items shown.

I just checked the rvparky.com website and there is a simple "Stars" pull down for only showing campgrounds with number of stars requested on the map. It looks like if you set it to 3 stars then you see all with 3 or above, so it seems to work as expected. No need to do anything after you change it. Map redraws practically immediately.

http://www.rvparky.com

Best part is its free, and much easier to add park reviews than was the rvparkreviews site. That site asks for so much info I only reviewed one of the 60+ campgrounds from last years trip. I reviewed all of them on rvparky.

RVParky is a good program for locating camping sites, I have used it for that and locating rest stops on the interstates.

However for trip planning it is not as robust as Trip Wizard. I use the mileage or time rings for planning stops and download my trips to my tablet and GPS. Some people like the fuel stops and cost calculator. I don't believe these functions are available in RVParky.

Trip Wizard has some changes in the works to improve filtering including filter by rating and you should see some changes in the next releases of the planner.

Yes - it's in the works. The filtering is being overhauled and expanded. You should be able to filter by:

Price
Rating
Amenities
Hookups
Park type
Discount clubs
and a few more...

Is the filtering for big rigs is in the "a few more" line?

Yes. It's a HUGE undertaking the rework of the filtering system on RVPR. You don't realize all the stuff you can search/filter on until you try to list it all. It's going to be really great once released. They're still working on it so hang in there.

Played around with the new filtering this morning. Very nice! I like how the filter icon on the toolbar across the top shows/reminds you how many filters you have set. Great job.
