Visitor View Beta?

How is this beta feature supposed to work?

I tried sending both the "public link" and the "private link" to a friend, but she says it's asking for email and password.

I don't want to give everyone read/write access to my profile. I could do that by just giving them my password.

I just want to send a non-RVTW user a link to a "read-only" version of a specific trip. Doesn't seem like they should have to have a RVTW account to view the trip.

I know I can keep emailing them the itinerary as it changes. But letting them view an updated version online would be better.

Guest login?

Several people have now tried to open a "visitor" link I sent them, and they're blocked by a login screen, even though by definition they don't have a login and don't want one.

Is there some kind of generic "guest" login they're supposed to use?

This would be a very useful feature. If it worked.

Answering my own question, it appears that if you sign up for a free "demo" of RVTW, you can then open a visitor link.

Nothing tells you that, however; we discovered it by trial and error.

Nice feature, though -- friends and family really enjoy having all that info in a convenient presentation.

Thank you for posting this. I have not been able to replicate the need for a login of any type, even when copying the link in private browsers, but we will keep looking into this.

I never needed a login, when I tested the feature. But I guess there's a stored cookie? Others who had never registered with RVTW had to sign up for a demo first.
