Warning on Route from Gettysburg to DC

I'm reworking our fall RV trip. We were originally just going from Cherry Hill RV Park up to Gettysburg before heading back to I-81 in Virginia.

We are now considering stopping in Gettysburg then going to Lancaster, PA and then down to Cherry Hill RV Park. For the legs out of Gettysburg and Lancaster I'm getting the following warning:

No RV Route Available Using Standard Route.

I tried changing the route to go south, not on the interstate to Lancaster and it still came up with the warnings.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

It means there is a toll, an unpaved road, a tunnel a ferry...something that you have in your settings that you do not want, but there is no other way to get there without breaking one of those rules. Perhaps even a clearance issue. Look at your settings and the route very carefully.

Very odd! It goes away if I take off RV routing. If I have my usual avoid tolls and ferries, it sends me across on Hwy 30 from Gettysburg to Lancaster area. When I had the RV routing it sent me up to I-76, with a route warning.

There are no height warnings showing on either route, let me shrink the height of our coach to see if that is the problem.

Well, I-76 is the PA Turnpike, which is a toll road. US 30 east from Gettysburg is very slow until you get past York; lots of small towns and many many traffic lights.

From Gettysburg to Lancaster can be much easier if you take US15 to 581 west of Harrisburg, 581 east to catch I83 north, then I283 south and PA 283 east to Lancaster. It avoids the tolls of the PA Turnpike, but you don't want to hit Harrisburg anywhere near rush hour.

I've done the Highway 30 from GB through York and had no problems. This was back in 2009. Don't know if they have made changes.

You can't get there from here. Common problem.

I think I found the problem, and you are correct, you can't get there from here in a motor home.

I entered my starting point in the online directions for the RV Park I was using as my base in the Lancaster area and the directions were different from the directions in RV Trip Wizard once you cross the river. This morning I entered a different RV Park and no problem. It seems there is a problem with the route to the RV Park.

Using the different location also cleared up the problem with going from PA to DC.

I took out all the filters and dropped the height of the RV (even though there were not height warnings along the route) and still had the warning, it went away when I took out the RV Routing and left it standard the directions for both the southern and more northern route across the Susquehanna.

No ferries i understand, the no toll filter i don't.

My idea is to get to where i'm going on interstates toll or no toll ... then roads such as 30 that i will be traveling within a week, we are going to Country Acres for the second time to attend the Hershey rv show.

We usually choose the interstates over the scenic routes because the destination is the point of most of our travels.

DH doesn't like toll roads, so to satisfy him, and to prevent the debacle we had in Florida a couple years back at unmanned toll booths, we try to avoid them. On the fall trip I will remind him to charge up the EZ Pass and check to see if we can use it with the motor home.

I wasn't aware there was a show.
Bummer - I'll be at Country Acres on the 16th.
Maybe we will run across one another if your staying past the last day of the show.

DW just said we are leaving Sunday, i hate driving the RV on Sunday, the traffic will be murder.

Prefer Monday, coming home, and Thursday for leaving if it's a one day drive.
