1972 Revcon 250 engine replacement thru the side door

We had to recently rebuild our tired 455 engine in our Revcon 250. We built a engine hoist/trolley system that works very well.. this was the easiest engine removal we have done over the many years of wrenching. For those wondering if it can be done Click image for larger version

Or raise the entire front end and leave the sub frame on floor.

Wow, that is great.

What kind of time and money do you have in the hoist and frame?

I believe that's how most shops do it, seems like a ton more work doing it that way. Only took 5hrs to pull and 6hrs to install (misplaced a few bolts)

Did you make it just for this RV or is this something you made with adjustments maybe to use on another RV?

Excellent thought out procedure, thank you for sharing. It’s actually enjoyable seeing creative outside the box thinking like this.

I believe this would work for most Revcon's and GMC's/other makes from the 70's with the dog house access. I made the unit with the idea of it being adjustable to suit different applications. Figured I would rent or sell to someone who is in need.l, shame to have it sit around for a one time use application but it sure beat the other method in my opinion.
