Master Cylinder 1978 Revcon - help

Hi, my husband and I inherited a 1978 Revcon and we havenít been able to use it because we canít find anyone who can repair it 😐. The engine is good.. itís the brakes that arenít. Does anyone know if the chassis is a GMC? What master cylinder was used on the 1978ís (part number?). Hoping it will help the mechanic. Thanks in advance!

I have a "72, so there are differences, but I eventually found all the brake parts I needed (hydraulics, booster, shoes/pads). A mix of Dodge and Ford, mostly.

For brakes, find a shop that knows American trucks and/or this era of motorhomes. Most parts will have part numbers that can be cross referenced. RevCon used readily accessible parts from American auto manufactures. Some are harder to find, but most can be. You just need to be a bit of a detective. You might also look for an "old school" mechanic who also knows how to use the internet.

Enjoy the hunt or you'll get frustrated.

All the best.

Wink New brake drums for revcon rv

RECENTLY i HAD TO HAVE CUSTOM BRAKE DRUMS FOR MY 1971 REVCON MADE FROM A MACHINIST - I HAD TO PURCHASE A MINIMUM OF EIGHT BRAKE DRUMS FOR THE ORDER AND WAIT 4MONTHS FOR THEM TO BE MADE. CLEARLY I ONLY NEEDED 2 OF THESE DRUMS, BUT WAS DESPERATE SINCE I COULD NOT DRIVE MY RV WITHOUT NEW DRUMS. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY BE IN THE SAME BOAT AS ME.

THE NEW BRAKE DRUMS FIT PERFECT ON MY 1971 REVCON. YOU CAN CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR 1978 REVCON HAS SAME DRUMS AS 1971. THEY ARE VERY HARD TO FIND NEW OR USED THAT IS WHY I HAD TO HAVE THEM CUSTOM MADE. I CAN SEND YOU PHOTO WITH DIMENSIONS IF YOU NEED DRUMS (CHECK WITH YOUR MECHANIC FIRST).

I AM NOW PUTTING UP FOR SALE THE REMAINING BRAKE DRUMS (SIX)- THEY ARE CUSTOM MADE AND BRAND NEW. COST IS $475 EACH DRUM - INCLUDES BASIC GROUND SHIPPING WITHIN THE CONTINENTAL US (NOT TO ALASKA OR HAWAII AND NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING)
YOU WILL NEED TO VERIFY IF THESE DRUMS FIT YOUR VEHICLE YEAR

THESE DRUMS ARE EXTREMELY RARE AND THAT IS WHY I HAD TO SPECIAL ORDER THEM - THE PRICE COVERS THE COST I PAID AND SHIPPING
IF INTERESTED, PLEASE LET ME KNOW

It would be great to have a spare set for when I eventually need them. I would pay you $600 for a pair. Looks like you went with a different bolt pattern so I'd need to have them drilled and re-studded (which will cost at least $100 each)

Please private message me if interested (to keep this thread on the master cyl topic)
