Canada route 60, Renfrew to Parry Sound

Iíve been told this will be a nice scenic drive.

How are the road conditions for a gas motorhome with car in tow in mid September?

Colours great in fall

That is a great trip through the park according to goggle maps it is 328 km 3hrs and 56 min. You should make it on one tank if not Huntsville and highway 11 has a few gas stations. Open year round.

It looks to be a two-lane road all the way. Are there places to pull over with a 50 foot/16 meter rig or any low bridges to worry about?

I live in Huntsville. Hwy 60 is a good highway, but is only single lane each way. Sept after Labour day is less busy than the summer, but everything is open until after the leaves change colour. Into October the leaves change colour, and highway 60 is very scenic. The traffic at that time is bumper to bumper. There are many campgrounds along the route, as well as a logging museum, and a second bigger museum. Both are worth a stop. There are no low bridges, and pulling off is easy at the many parking lots along the road. I drive through there with my motorhome all the time. There are a few big hills, but nothing problematic. There is also a nice Provincial park at the north end of Huntsville that I think can park rvs. It is called Arrowhead Provincial Park. Huntsville is the biggest town in this area, and has most things you will need. There is a smart plaza with a Walmart, grocery store, gas, and several restaurants at the intersection of highways 11 and 60. If I can help with any other questions, feel free to ask. Cheers

I noticed also that you are going on through to Parry Sound. From Huntsville, you can either take Aspdin Road, which is Muskoka Road 3, or go 10 minutes south of Huntsville to hwy 141. Aspdin Road is a decent road, but it is a secondary road. Lots of transport trucks use it, as it is the shortest way to Parry Sound. I can be a little tight if you meet too many transports going through. Not a big deal, but if you prefer travelling on a better road, Hwy 141 is the official truck route. It only takes about 15 minutes longer. Cheers

Thank you. I may take the longer route. Iíll probably be tired by Huntsville.
