How new is your diesel engine? What type of emissions controls on it? The U.S. diesel is now required to be Ultra Low Sulphur, Mexico is only Low Sulphur. The extra sulphur can clog parts of the emissions equipment on newer U.S. diesels and cause the ECU to throw codes. Carefully check the requirements of your engine, perhaps contact engine maker to be sure.

Just FYI, you can buy ULSD diesel at the gas station in Why, AZ, around 60miles from Rocky Point. The price of Mexican fuel is now almost double the price in the US.
