PEI, Nova Scotia - big rig diesel

Will be traveling throughout the areas this August. 40 ft. MH pulling a full size truck. Are there ample truck stops or do I need to google search each area to find one?

We were up there for 7 weeks 2 summers ago. Truck stops were for trucks. You had to have some kind of fleet card to use truckers pumps. Not available to us. We had no problems finding fuel stops we could get into with 40 ft towing car. Most Petro Canada stops have the diesel pumps on the outside pump islands. Petro Canada is everwhere.

We traveled from NY to St. Johns Newfound land in 2016. We have no problem using the Petro Canada Diesel pumps closet to the road. Irving Big Stop Restaurant in Deer Lake NL was a central fuel stop that was easy in and out on the side of the station. The food was good also. Below is their web site.

Several years back, we traveled all over the eastern provinces in a 38 ft DP, pulling a 24 ft trailer with five touring bikes on board. We had no problems any place we went. I have been to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI four times. I have been to Newfoundland once for three weeks. I love the east coast, and will go again. I just cant seem to get enough of those high tides in the Bay of Fundy. They are amazing. The people of the east coast are the nicest people you will meet. NFLD was amazing as well. We drove all the way up to L'anse aux Meadows to see icebergs and the Viking village. They have a website called iceberg finder, which will tell you where the icebergs are. The site is very accurate. The year we went, [2013], no icebergs came far enough south to see them at St John or Twillingate. The closest ones were near St Anthony. We saw whales at Twillingate, but the best spot was St. Vincent beach. The whales come right up to the shore chasing the kaplin fish. The water is very deep right at shore, so the whales come right in. Enjoy your trip. You will love eastern Canada.
