There's an active shooter situation unfolding in Midland, Texas. Two shooters reported, one of them is driving a USPS van.

Thanks for your response..not used to this type of ongoing violence.

Far more likely to do in a car accident or a medical mistake after you're in that car accident, or a heart attack caused by the stress of being in a US mass shooting.

A lot of the anxiety is caused by the instant news on the internet that did not exist years ago. Every time there is a shooting, even a cop shooting one guy, it is sensationalized on the news and internet now. When I went back to school 29 years ago, my first year, first semester, a classmate of mine was the head of the HR department of a government contractor. He had to fire someone. The employee requested a hearing. The employee brought a gun to the hearing and shot and killed my class mate, the head of the union, a third person and then himself. No one outside of my town every heard the story. Today it would be Breaking News everywhere and on every news website.

Thanks to all who replied.

We will travel, be vigilant, be careful, however, we will be mindful that these events will happen again and again and again as it has year after year with thousands of lives lost because no one is doing anything to prevent it...including me.

Safe travels everyone.
