? about settin up a truck for a slide in camper.

I'm new here but figured this is the place to ask advice on something I've never done before.

I tow a boat for (fishing of course) so the logical choice for us is a truck camper, Ive got the truck (2008 F350 4x4 diesel C.C. longbed), now it is time to concentrate on doing the prep work & buying the camper.

I've lived in T.T.'s for 15 years traveling from job sites. I am doing the prep work myself while I still can (physically).

I've insalled the Torklift tiedowns already, pulling up the poorly preped weekend worrior bed lining job (what a chore that is for this old fart) & will take it to the pros this week.

What brand airbags are the best & economically priced? No onboard compressor.

Where do I install the 7 pin connecter in the bed?

What brand of cameras do some of you use to aid in loading the camper, if doing it solo?

I a lance truck camper they are pricey that said air lift is what I run on my class a you may not need them not sure on the ford

I will keep searching for the right airbag system.

I did find out on my fishing forum that the location of the plug should be on the drivers side front & angled to the back incase I forget to unplug, it will pull right out without damage to the wiring.

We just picked up an Arctic Fox 992. It's on a 2002 f350 7.3PSD 4x4 SRW CC LB with a custom 6" lift. The bags that were recommended by AF were the Firestones. Very simple setup. You can upgrade them to accommodate an onboard compressor with in cab controls at a later date. No complaints yet.. But then again only have about 500+ miles on them.

It seems you have already made a decision but figured I would still post even if I'm a little late. The kit we offer for your truck is 57212. Don't pay the price much attention, this kit typically goes for about $260 from our retailers. Plus we are currently running a $50 rebate which would bring it down to $210. All of our bag kits come with the components needed to manually fill the bags via shrader valves.

Our bag kits are very similar to all of our competitors, but we do offer one of the best warranties from any bag manufacturer. We are also very focused on providing the best customer service possible.

No matter what kit you end up installing, I would suggest you don't tee the airlines together. You may have already received this advice but for a slide in it's worth mentioning. By tee'ing them together you can get weight transfer problems while cornering, which with all of the added top heavy weight can become a real problem.
