Can anyone speak on the quality of the Lance product?

I am looking at travel trailers. That is a new field for them. How is the camper line I would thing the quality would go hand in hand.

Bad assumption. Lance is OK but a trailer is not anything like a camper though Lance has carried over its engineering and manufacturing methods and materials to its trailer line. There are also relatively few of them on the road or available used to buy.

Check out the owners' forum for them at Forums Directory | Lance Owners of America where you can read the posts. One thing I will say is that customer service from Lance is as bad as it gets. They would not even make the list if I were buying a trailer today or a camper either.

My experience with Lance Customer Service since buying a new Lance TC in April has been excellent. They have worked with me 100% on getting problems worked out with equipment and a local dealership. I'm also very happy with the Lance quality in my TC.

I've owned four Lance campers since the mid 80s and they have all met my expectations. Over the 40+ years that my wife and I have been RVing, we have owned several new Airstream travel trailers and Hitchhiker fifth wheels which gives us some experience comparing quality RVs.

I've never had any problem with contacting Lance Customer Service by phone and my requests have been taken care of promptly. My current Lance that I purchased new by special order from Lance is 10 years old and just recently I called Lance customer support for a small part I needed. The person at Lance Customer Service who answered my phone call (much more effective than e-mail) was helpful, knowledgeable, and shipped it promptly. If I wanted a new truck camper, it would be another Lance.

I've had my camper for just over a year and it's been great. I did have a PVC fitting going into the water heater crack and they shipped me the part 2day UPS. My dealer is 180 miles away, so Lance offered to pay a local RV repair station to install it. I did a lot of research and narrowed my choices to three, of which Lance was one. I bought the Lance because my dealer was having a grand opening sale and the unit was priced very competitively. I've been in a few of the trailers and they appear to be very nicely built, nothing fancy though. As someone else suggested, go to the Lance Owners forum and see what's being discussed.

Smile Lance has been great

I have had a Lance Camper since 1999. I have found the company to be extremely helpful and nice from my first days with camper, through my cross country drive with it in 2002, and when a friend borrowed it for a job in N. Dakota. The dealership in West Virginia where I purchased it new in 1999 was wonderful and as a single female new to even driving a big truck, they were invaluable with info on battery, appliances, loading on truck, etc. The Lance Dealer out here in Washington State has been a big disappointment and I have not been pleased with their re- sealing quality especially. Regular maintenance is very important though, so I continue to use them when we can't fix problem ourselves. The newer Lance Campers I have seen look cheaper inside but have more electronics than mine. I am glad I went for the interior upgrades, as it still looks great after all these years. I have the Lance model 1011 riding on a 1999 F250. I have had NO major problems with the camper, but needed a larger battery than first installed, minor problems with the refrigerator, and issues with the holding tanks monitor (common issue I think).
