Hi Grayden, what model air conditioner do yo have.
I have a 2002 835 and the directions for the Briskair 13.5 BTU say 3500 watts minimum for mine. That would be great if a eu3000 would work.
Thanks,
Jim in Co.

I have a Lance 920 slide-in camper. It has a 13.5 dometic AC. The camper is a 2003. I called some dealers and they stated that it should have a soft start kit. I do run it monthly using a standard house outlet and it starts with no problem. Is it safe to assume that it must have the soft start kit if 115 volt 20 amp connection starts it?

I like the Yamaha 3000iseb but it is far too heavy for my neads. I read that most people either use 2 honda 2000's or a 3000. Most Yamaha 2800 owners state it runs the AC with no problem. I have checked around and can't find a Yamaha 2800i close enough around me to test it out. I want a little more assurance that it would run the AC before I order one over the net. I realize that I would not be able to run the microwave and have the frig on propane inorder for a 2800 to start and run the AC but that is fine with me.

I also realize that the 2800i is a little louder than other choices but the weight and size is a overriding consideration. I plan on running it inside a horse trailer which should eliminate the noise issue.

In a nutshell, can I be 99% sure that the Yamaha 2800i will do the trick and start my AC? For those of you that own the Yamaha would you recommend the YG or EF model....From what I gather the YG has a beefed up frame but only a 1 year warranty vrs 2 yrs on the EF. I assume this is because they know that construction people put lots of wear and tear on the YG models.

Please don't turn this into a "which generator is best discussion" That has been done many times and I have read all the threads. I just need to know if the 2800 will work for me.

Grayden,

Do you have any pictures of your generator installation. I'm interested in doing exactly what you've done, but I'm a bit worried about the generator wobbling on the end of the receiver.

My 3000 will just fit between my two ATV's on the trailer. With the quads in place you can't lift out the gen set. But to keep folks honest I cable it through some i-bolts on the floor of the trailer. When not towing the quads I just put it inside the Lance until I get where I want to go. Then I unload it.
