We're considering towing a 26' boat. Wt. with trailer =~#9500. We'll need a slide in. The ones we like @ 11.50 ft.=~4500# wet/loaded. What truck(s) will we need to haul this combo? Thanks for your help! Jon and Zelda

I think you will find as of the 05 model year Ford weight ratings have jumpud considerably. A f-350 will probably suit you fine. But watch out the higher gvw is forcing a lot of folks to register commercially! yikes.

I tow a 28" trailer @ #9000 with a 9.6 Snowriver.

I have a Pullrite hitch (the best), Jake brake, Firestones and am at the max on factory numbers (#250 over payload). The tow ability and stopping ability is fine with this combination.

The larger campers (10.5-11.5) will require a larger truck. Most likely at least a 550.

Towing with an 11.5' camper will also require a very long hitch extension. At maximum extension even a Torklift hitch may be maxed out on tongue capacity. Check the numbers; I don't know the exact specs but with a #9500 trailer your tongue weight will be around #1100.

I had the Pullrite hitch installed (at the factory in Indiana) which has a larger pull and tongue capacity than the Torklift. It also has unique anti sway ability.
