I ran my truck and camper without any suspension mods for about 6 months.
however, even with the camper on there was over 3 inches clearance before the overload springs engaged and I found the truck's ride very hard but there was no sway.
I installed firestone air springs at 50psi which softened the ride but introduced some sway. The sway is not dangerous so it is a trade off for a softer ride.
