Lance generator won't start

The generator had been running great until it sat for 6 mos in Florida. I have done the common maintenance procedures for not starting which include:

  1. Cleaning the vent hose on the bottom
  2. Replaced the spark plug
  3. Replaced the two stage propane regulator (Mine is propane fired)
  4. Checked the spark plug for firing
  5. Changed the oil (which always looks new due to burning propane)
  6. Changed the fuel filter
  7. Checked the air filter (relatively new)
  8. Cleaned and tightened the ground wire
I know I have good gas pressure to the generator but do not know how to test if I am getting propane to/though the carb.

Does anyone have any suggestions besides not to let it sit so long.

I saw that you haven't had an answer in awhile, so I thought I'd try, even though I've never had a propane-operated generator. I had a truck camper for about 20 years. Are you pretty sure you have propane all the way to the generator? To get my refrigerator to fire up, I have to turn on the burners on the stove to get propane up to the refrigerator. Maybe the generator has a similar problem. Just because you have pressure doesn't mean you have propane yet. On the pressure question, do you know how many psi, or inches of water your generator needs to operate? Can you find it in the manual? Maybe this could be tested. One other thought. Propane smell is very attractive to spiders and they build nests in propane lines and orifices. Have you checked for this? Good luck!

Have you tried a small shot of ether (starting fluid) directly into the carb? If that makes it fire you've probably determined it's a fuel flow issue.

We have a propane fueled forklift and need to do this occasionally to get it going after it sits.
