Lance has finally updated the website with the 2006 models. I think I'm still in shock.

My shock about the new colors has faded (no pun intended), as the photos I've seen on the site now make 'em look not so bad.

But what I'm shocked about is the model lineup revamp. Gone are ALL of the non-slide regular Lance models, AND all of the larger regular Lance models like the 1130, 1121 and 1161. Here's the new lineup, completely:

Lite:

815
835
845
915
1024
1055 (basically the 1030 reborn in Lite form)

Regular:

851
861
951

Max:

881
981
1181
1191

I suppose I can see the point of discontinuing the 1130, 1121 and 1161, but dang, those are sorta like classics. The 1161 rocked. I HATE the 1191 because it's 6" shorter and the floorplan just doesn't work as well without the extra length.

That new right-side wardrobe is now standard in everything, but thank God the option is available to get the right-side window and regular cabinets back.

BTW, advertised DRY weight on the 1181 is 4019. Yikes.

Rob

Agree. I didn't see anything that I liked better than what I've got.

Yep, I'll stick with my 1121 too.

Rob G.

Another change that Lance has made in the last couple years is replacing their longstanding commitment to the aluminum roof. The max series are the nicest Lance campers and more competitive with the Bigfoots, Arctic Fox, etc.

One thing that is disappointing to me about the Lance web site is the very limited number of camper photos. They have a few, but they need many more. They build a beautiful camper, why not show it off.

This lack of camper photos on manufacturer's web pages does not seem to be limited to Lance. Many others have the same problem. Web page photos are basically free. Why limit them to only a couple? They seem to not be getting the most out of their web sites. Their web masters are asleep at the wheel.

Hmm!! You're right Brad. Have you hit the 'contact us' at the TC manufacturers web sites and told them what you'd like to see?

I do that with sites for places I'd like to visit, especially about the lack of photos.

Actually, I think I know one reason webmasters shy away from more photos and that is storage space on their own servers. Techys tend to worry about size of storage space. False economony!
