Hello all,

It is time for me to replace my battery in my camper. It currently has a Trojan series 31 (130 amp hour) battery and has been great.

I am having trouble finding a Trojan dealer near me that has any in stock. I am considering a blue top optima or a 115 amp-hour Costco battery, but I can't help but think I should keep looking for a Trojan since it has served 7 years without any problems.

What do you think?

I can find a Trojan for $130 and a bit of a drive, or I can get an optima for $130 or the costco battery for $63.

Which route should I go? I have a solar panel(50watt) for trickle charge and an on board generator that I can use if things get too low.

Easiest way to find Trojan dealers is to call around to local golf courses, ask for the groundskeeper (or person that maintains the golf carts) and ask where they get their batteries. That is how I found a place in San Antonio to get mine. They were a golf cart service company and not listed on the Trojan web site/dealer listings. Golf course gave me the phone number, I called and they had them ready to pick up the next day.

Thanks,

I decided to go the cheap route and pick up the costco battery. Worst case I can buy two costco batteries for the price of the one trojan.
