New project 1973 Amerigo w/Snap N Nap!
Last week I picked up this sweet 1973 Amerigo with Snap N Nap tip out bunk (not slide out). Cool features are fiberglass front cap and roof cap, and the snap n nap. Side entry door is a plus. 3 beds inside a slide in with a wet bath and weight only around a ton from what I can understand. Sweeeet! It needs a total rebuild, I plan to take it down to the studs and start from there. Unfortunately due to lack of time money and a building to do it inside of, this will need to wait until probably next year. Getting married in October and plan to slap a new roof on the Sun Lite Hideaway TC project I posted this past winter, we will use that as the honeymoon rig. Next year if I haven't found a building to use for working on the Amerigo then I will have to do it in my driveway. I just don't have enough time and money to get it done before winter this year. The plan is a total rebuild and remodel. Update appliances to all DSI, modernize the interior big time, hopefully fit more holding tank capacity, switch from 3 to 4 jacks, if possible I would like to build a larger bathroom maybe even a dry bath. Outside shower, possibly some sort of outside kitchen I'm not sure. I'd love to build a slide out but must stay practical. All new wiring and plumbing, updating/upgrading electrical system, adding a/c, etc. upgraded insulation with vapor barrier on walls. On the outside I want to use smooth aluminum siding and radius windows to modernize the look and increase insulation factor.
Lots to do! I can't wait to start but it has to wait a while unfortunately.
Not my Ford.... I have a Dodge 3500 dually on 19.5's with air bags, but had to use a SRW truck to get it home.
