good morning all.
looking for suggestions or experience installing a rear awning on my 99 bigfoot 10.6
normally it would not be a problem except the camper clearance lights over the door are right where the awning should go.
the camper has a left side ladder and roof luggage rack factor installed.
do not know if there is any internal blocking for mounting a rear awning.
thanks for any advice.

well I guess I will have to keep my thinking cap on a bit longer.
investigating whether one of those box awnings could be bolted to the rear part of the roof luggage rack.

Rockman!

I'm so sorry! I planned to get you some pics of how the rear awning is mounted on my Bigfoot.

I've gotten involved in several things since I
promised myself I'd get some pics...not the least of which is getting ready to head off myself.

Regards
rick

thanks for any suggestions rwaldbart.
have ruled out the boxed awning option.
the roof and luggage rack are too crowned left to right to mount a boxed awning.
also the luggage rack is set too far back from the rear of the camper.
hope there is an option that does not involve relocating the clearance lights.
the newer bigfoots are more squared off along the edges and the clearance lights are set higher which gives more room to mount an awning.

Rockman,

These pics may just confirm your conclusions.

I've got a 2001 Bigfoot and I'll try to post the pics I took.

Best regards
Rick

thanks waldbart.
we off season camp and are getting ready for our first 3 week trip starting september.
as an interim measure to an attached awning I have been experimenting with a 8'x10' tarp.
it is awkward and not as convenient as a proper awning but will have to do for now.
we always close up side awning at night in case of high winds or heavy snow fall.
also must take tarp down to access the camper roof to re/re canoe.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

Rockman, there are several manufacturers that make window awnings in many diff. sizes. Could one of those work for you?

My '03 Lance 1130 has has really neat awning over the rear door. It is made by Carefree of Colorado. It is called the "Carefree Truckin' Awn". I didn't name it I am just looking at the instructions that came with it.
