Well after getting stuck inside over a rainy, bug riddled camping trip on the 4th of July. I decided the family needed something bigger.

Thinking I was going to have a very hard time selling the Lance I went to trade it in on a new TT. Every dealer wanted to give low wholesale book on my Lance, then wanted me to pay sticker on a new trailer. So I ran an ad and sold it to the first person who called about it!!! It served me well for 6+ years, but on the day it drove away I went and bought a new 2 place ATV truck rack and ordered a new Travel Trailer.

I ended up getting a 31'(interior size) trailer. I think I went from one end of the size spectrum to the other! Hopefully not too big though.

Thanks for all the tips over the years in the slide in fourm. Now it's off to the TT forums.

we have been thinking of going the other way. getting rid of our 32'5vr for a TC. I know what you mean about the dealers not wanting to give anything for your trade in.

You may have caught this on the net but some used a stable lift to mount his ATV rack on. He can unload rack and ATVs all at once just like a TC and have use of the truck.

We have done that twice and we could go without our camper..... so we bought our third Lance! We also are keeping our 33' 5th toyhauler.

The camper is for the little fishing trips and weekend get aways and the toyhauler is for exteneded trips. We also found that the TH cound not get into many of the small lakes and campgrounds that we enjoyed with the camper.

Now we have the best of both worlds

Still think a TC is the way to go, provided there are only 2 of you. I've been the TT route and you soon find out you can't go a lot of places you'd like to go, and trying to Park a 30 footer in a State park or forestry site can be a nightmare, especually in BC where they tend not to angle the spots. I'm going for the SnowRiver with Command Seating in my next camper. At least that way, you can sit comfortably inside when you are stuck in there.

Me too. We just sold our TC ... I hated to see it go down the road & hope I don't regret it. I found over the last 3 hears that I only pulled the boat behind the TC 2,1 & 0 times, respectively. We usually take the Goldwing bihind the TC & we go for week long trips. So we decided to go with a TT for the added room & will load the Goldwing in the truck.

Now I just have to find the TT.

I was browsing the forums and peeked in for old times sake. I saw this one was still active, so I'll throw in an update.

We absolutely love our TT. Our special order ended up getting screwed up badly by someone(cough*sales manager*cough), but we ended buying our first choice of TT from a different dealership a few months later, which by then had come way down in price.

Anyway, our first trip was Labor Day weekend, we've been out almost every weekend since. So far we've gotten it every where except on place that I took the TC, but we'll trade that for the extra space.

I was shocked when I weighed the rig, I thought for sure I would be much lighter on the truck than when I had the TC, but hauling 2 ATVs in the bed, a generator, firewood, trailer tounge weight, etc... my truck weights were almost identical to my weights with the camper. Of course now the scale says I also have an additional 7500# behind me on the trailer axles, oh well good excuse for a power chip!

Cheers!

We learned our lesson on the third Lance...

Each time we decided to move to a bigger rig, we sold the Lance camper. Bad move.

This third one, we are keeping along with our 5th wheel toyhauler
