Ammonia leak

Are you like me and when I heard that the International Space Station had an ammonia coolant leak that would require a space walk to repair you wondered if it was a Norcold or Dometic unit???

The ammonia is used as a heat transfer fluid and not designed anything at all like an absorption refrigerator...two different animals.

It functions as a device called a "heat pipe".
Why does the International Space Station require ammonia coolant

Ahaaaaaaa....Now I get it.....being that Ammonia also works in both a heat pump and a refridgerator,

Could be the reason a Norcold has a reputation of a Notcold

I couldn't get the wiki link to open so I went to a NASA link to read about this leak. In space an ammonia leak makes snowflakes -- ammonia snowflakes. Who knew?
