Look at some of the other stuff that they are selling.

There have a clamp on meter that was listed for over $8000 which can be had from another Internet source for $1200.

To some people it's all a matter of marketing.

There are people out there that think because they pay more for an item , it's better.
That must be the target sales group.
Just think in 20 years it'll be on antiques road show for a 1/2 mill.

I've got fresh pears for $1000.00 a piece. I may not sell many pears, but hey, I only have to sell one!
Any takers? I promise you it will be the best pear you have ever eaten (or at least the most expensive.)

The ad does say that all electrical components are for European use (220-240 volts) so most of us don't need it anyway.
