I wouldn't let it bother me. I have gotten my share of opinionated PM's, too. I frequent about 10 forums and moderate on a large one. This one seems to have attracted more than it's fair share of myopic micro-managers who enjoy belittling others.

Don't let it bother you for a second. The politically correct crowd is always looking for something to be offended about.

If one goes through life trying not to offend someone it will be a miserable life. Relax and enjoy your time here! If anyone doesn't like what you say they don't have to continue reading/listening.

As Americans we made war on King George and have done so for 100's of years on repressive regimes to support the First Amendment Rights. We can see where it goes with the Taliban. We really need to define what Family Friendly is and how it lends itself to our First Amendment Rights, to this forum and to us as Americans who enjoy RV's. Family Friendly, unchecked, could be seen as Un-American Censoring. Family Friendly also needs monitoring as to not become so oppressive that someone else' values are being placed on others. In all due fairness I do not want to read garbage and material that belongs in other less discerning publications here. Prime time TV has subject matter far worse than anything I have seen here and yet it is governed by Fed Regs and I suspect some of it would be bounced here. I do feel a forum member should be able to read and post without fear of censorship. Perhaps a discussion and polls of these issues should be done in order to insure forum administrators and the membership are on the same page. It is very sad to see a members post removed without explanation other than it is not "Family Friendly". It is even sadder to see a person have to apologize for their post. Simply put I would no more support gross, nasty material anymore than a religious zealot's censorship on benign humor. Staying in the lane with my motorhome is my goal but lets not make the lanes so narrow that it becomes too hard to do so.

Hay pemsit...I got a great idea. I'll post something about guns, and then all the flames will come to me. See, if "they" are picking on me, then "they" will leave you alone. Then, after a while, you can post something again, and then they will pick on you. We can just share, go back and forth. See, I got really broad shoulders....they go with my big belly...a matched set.

Hay, I'm just trying to help!!!!

Hey Rusty,
I see where some folks have run afoul of the rules. I also can see where the rules make a lot of sense considering the number of people who post here.
Must have been really bad humor.

Phil, we have to watch the content of the forum for family content to maintain the quality of the forums. What one person may not have a problem with, another might.

Basically, you can ask yourself if it would be suitable to discuss or tell your young children, parents or ultra-conservative grandparents.

Hope this sheds some light on the concerns.

Ken

Ken,

I have to agree that children should not be exposed to trash talk.
I think I would have a problem with Taliban like rigidity from any adult though. Just retired from that war as well as Vietnam. Good taste and acceptance of other people and their values is important to me and hopefully they can extend that to me or any other forum member. I also recognize this is private property and therefore the 1st Amendment does not apply here. Hopefully the spirit of that Amendment is shared at some level on this forum as it is protected under it. If asked by my Government I would without hesitation go to war to protect the right of this forum, or any other forum to exist. The rules for this forum are clear, necessary and understandable. In that context, if someone was offended by a posting but it fit the criteria of the rules, then I hope it would stand despite senior citizen status of the objector. Respect is a two way street by Administrators, elders and generic posters such as myself.
Enough of this seriousness and next chance we will sit down with a margarita on the deck and discuss this in depth, along with horses, rigs and people.
Phil

Ray: I say, Right On, My Man.

I have the freedom to do that, and in no small part because guys like the one in your avatar stood up for that right. Thank you.

PS - Too bad I missed Pemsit's story, I could have offered an opinion on that, too. And as I am wont to say, repeatedly, some would say, is that opinions are just like . . . everybody has one.
