I loved Sky King, it was my favorite show, every Saturday morning on one of the three stations we got in Baltimore.
Here's another:
Lloyd Bridges in "Sea Hunt". Remember that one?

Oh yeah. I remember Mom & Dad taking us on vacation one year down to Florida and us stopping by the old movie set. Clearwater or Clearwater Springs or something like that. The place that has the "mermaids" and water-skiing shows or had. Don't know if they are even still in business.

Got them all and caught the quit/switch one but everybody else caught that one too.

What was the name of Sky King's plane??

And what type of plane was it?? That's a trick question, there were two.

The Shadow, Lamont Cranston, had "the power to cloud men's minds".

And #18 is incorrect, the actual line from the start of the radio show was,

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows."

Songbird. The first plane was a Cessna T-50 and the second a Cessna 310.

Did you actually know that, or did you Google it???

I remembered the name of the plane, but I had to look up the type of
plane years ago for a different forum I was on.
Didn't remember the plane types from when I was a kid.

When I was a kid, I was an absolute plane nut, still am I guess. As soon as I could afford it, I got my pilots license. Since the 310 wasn't produced until the 1954 year, I have to assume that's the year they dumped the T-50 in the series.

Guess I was only a semi-plane nut, never became a pilot. And you obviously
have a much better memory about airplanes.
But I still like them.........a lot...

I got all 20 . Another on 16 started with Let's. I thought that the 1st songbird was a Piper Apache.

Being an old pilot myself, I bought the entire Sky King episodes on DVD. Love to watch those old shows. Don't get me started on all the old westerns I used to love. I bet that starts a whole new discussion. LOL

Johnny Yuma......was a rebel....
Branded....
Wire Paladin, San Francisco.....Have Gun, Will Travel?
They called him Bat, Bat Masterson.....

I, too, am a child of the 50's. I watched Seahunt, and Sky King. I also liked Flipper but that was later. When I was 12, I started SCUBA diving. When I was 30, I got a pilot's license. When I was 50, I started flying ultralight aircraft.

Still dive, but no longer fly. BUT got into sailing in a big way.
