Anyone remember a radio broadcast by Orson Wells called War of the Worlds?

Sound similar, Eh!

This sounds really fishy to me.....I can't believe that a legislature member would be this stupid. Sounds more like a "dumb blond" joke.

It could be true....(that guy might be running for president in 2020).

Kind of reminds me of " Rick Mercer's Talking to Americans " a few years back ; where , on camera , he asked people at an American University to comment on the " new " Canadian Law that banned the practice of setting the elderly adrift on ice flows.

NOW!!!! Speaking of REAL possibilities and Laws . There is a real possibility that " Distracted Driving " ie. using a cell phone or texting while driving .
Could become a , Criminal Code , offence in Canada . Making it " Distracted Driving " equal to a " DUI " charge.
This because , deaths due to Distracted Driving on Canadian roads, are almost the same as those due to driving drunk.

Unless the felony charge had drugs involved or serious nature involving robbery, murder etc...after 10 years of clean history you are deemed rehabilitated and admissible to Canada. Otherwise you can apply for a waiver from any consulate prior to your arrival.

Canadians entering the USA are subject to the same restrictions, one recent event a guy admitted to pot use and not having a medical waiver, he had none on him and was permanently banned from seeking entry to the USA.

As far as the radio satire show...no different than when War of the Worlds was broadcast...people panicked and thought the martians were invading.

War of the Worlds ; was broadcast at a time where " I heard it on the Radio " it must be true ; was in the minds of the people.

JUST like today , where far, far, far, to many people , have the " I read it on the Internet " it must be true , attitude.

I was worried until I noticed this is from the Canadian equivalent of "The Onion News Network"..Whew, It's sad to think it could have been true knowing our current "leaders".

Whenever you think it is so ludicrous it cannot be true just wait. The government will find a way to make it so.

IMO every government wants to do things that make it seem like they are different from the previous government and they are doing something to be progressive. Since most of the good things have been done they are left with creating new bureaucracy.

Similar to the detergent commercial that promised new graphics on the box.

Here in ca where we grow most of the food used everywhere we have cities who dump barely treated sewage into the system combined with non native predatory fish that eat anything that fits in their large mouth then the decline of frogs and bait fish are blamed on too much water being pumped.

Studies funded with private money showed pumping least cause and issues above highest but farmers get blamed.

Now they want higher flows of water that does not exist...but pumping still not allowed.

System designed for full flows at 5 year drought but not being used as designed...

Government folks can be odd...

Just because the government says do it may not be facts...
