Believe it or not

What are some strange or unbelievable events that have happened to you while traveling?
Ours is our last trip to NYC. While heading to Liberty Harbor RV Park in New Jersey, we were stopped at the entrance to Holland Tunnel by the police and told we could not pull our TT thru the tunnel because of the propane bottles. This was our first trip to NY and did not know about hazardous materials restrictions. So, there we were in the middle of 5 PM traffic and too late to exit. The police blocked traffic so we could be rerouted to Broadway St. to cross over the Washington Bridge. We pulled our TT down the middle of NYC from Canal St. To 178th. We must have been a sight! F250 Super Duty, extended cab, 33' TT competing with taxi cabs and other traffic. Somehow we made it. Downtown NYC!!

It's not uncommon for tunnels to ban propane. A little advance planning and you can get anywhere. Hardly an excuse to miss a trip to the Big Apple.

Thanks for the encouragement. But a trip to the Big Apple is never going to be on my bucket list. I'll even reroute an over seas flight so I won't have to go through the LGA or JFK airport. I like cities that sleep, with folks that talk a little slower and are courteous. (I took calls from NYC when I worked at a call center tracking packages.... I still have PTSD from that experience. LOL)
