Retired cop story.To know these two and not love them would be a sin.They had more outrageously funny things happen to them than yon can imagine.While on routine patrol one night they end up chasing a stolen car.Will the bad guy gets in a small accident and bails out and starts running.The sutton starts after the kid.Over a few fences and yards the bad guy is pulling away.Will as sutton is climbing a fence he sees the kid go to the left .At this point sutton stops to catch his breath and observes the suspect all of a sudden make a 90 degree turn and run about 50 feet and make another 90 degree turn.We need to pause and remember its about midnight no yards lights on and poor old sutton is about done in.Now the badguy is almost even with sutton only hes on the other side of the yard.Will sutton says to him self the shortest way between two points is a straight line and he takes off straight across the -what he thought was the back yard.Naw it wasnt a backyard it was a swimming pool that had a tando cover over it.The sutton got about ten feet out before his weight broke thru the cover and down he went.The owner of the pool-tando cover wasnt real happy, but when he saw sutton he started laughing so hard he didnt say much.Ya the bad guy got away but his capture is another laugh filled lighthearted story.
