That reminds me of another (in this case, true) cyanide story.
Winston Churchill and Lady Nancy Astor were bitter political enemies. One evening, somebody with a sense of humor seated them next to each other at a dinner party.
At one point in the evening, she commented: "Winston, if you were my husband, I'd put cyanide in your tea."
Without hesitation, he replied: "Nancy, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."
