Link worked for me!

Tailgating or not, thinking the trooper made his point and moved on. I applaud his actions personally...

If i was the trooper, they would have been pulled over and cited for improper lane use of traffic flow!

Same here. Just like that lady that got a ticket going under the speed limit in the fast lane this summer. If your going to use it, make sure you are doing at least the posted speed but you better be passing people while doing so. If not, get back over.

Why do so many pull into the left hand HOV lane and drive at exactly the speed limit when the right hand lanes are going way faster? Grrrr..... I wish more cops would do what this one did and I wish they would crack down everywhere like they are doing in Utah. (Notwithstanding the fact he was tailgating.)

Unfortunately the" left lane for passing" is not nationwide. Some states still don't have this law. Texas only a little over a year ago passed it and then only for the roads where the speed limit was increased higher than 70 mph. I personally was more appalled by the officer tailgating than I was what appeared to be a vehicle on a crowded highway running with the flow of traffic in the left lane.

If the trooper had actually stopped him, the guy could have made a citizen's arrest for following too close (before the trooper turned on his blue lights)!

Yep, I hate people that tie up the left lanes!

That was fabulous, I was laughing right along with the videographers.

My favorite "slow left lane" sign is this one:

I agree with thebaldeagle. The cop was tailgating and they appeared to be going with the flow of traffic. Maybe they should have been in another lane, but they cannot be cited for impeding traffic since they were going the speed limit. The cop should be cited for following to closely. I believe I heard the female in the car say their tags were expired! Just MHO.

I personally think the trooper was an idiot to follow that close and then wait so long before lighting him up.

I've seen it before and I got a kick out of it. And, no cop is ever going to get a ticket for something like following too closely.

Pull the guy over and tell him what he is doing wrong. "Protect and serve" is the job. Trooper did neither that day, FAIL!!
