Glitzy RV's

Around 1972 after a stint in the Navy and college graduation, I was with my Mom looking at new converted buses and very pricey motorhomes.
They sure were glitzy with mirrors everywhere- including on the ceilings! All were surrounded with lots of twinkle lights for even more accents.
I said, "this looks like a hooker's palace!"
My Boston,Massachusetts born & raised Mom asked me without skpping a beat: "How would you know?"
I was speechless!

Sometimes, young men forget and say things around Mom that they should not. When our youngest finished Paris Island was sent to his new training assignment at 29 Palms. Their first weekend there they all headed for Tijuana. Before leaving, he called his mother and told her - she worried about him until his call the next week. When I was able to talk with him I "explained" that there are certain things a young Marine might do that you never let mom know about.

I always use the "my brother once told me ..." line to my daughters until my cousin used it modified to my daughters "your dad once told me ...".
