We used to refer to this kind of uncaring travelers as "Grandparents in a can." The amount of goodwill generated by pulling over in a large, slow vehicle to let folks pass can't be calculated. Pay it forward.
Years ago on the Trans Canadian Highway West of Moose Jaw, when it was only 2 lane but large shoulders, it was common to pull to the right and let folks pass. I've not been on that road for decades, but it was the norm. I'm always aware of those behind me and pull over when I can. It saves folks trying to pass in unsafe ways that could involve us in their accident. Just smart driving in my mind.
