How many congressmen to change a light bulb?

It only takes two. One to tell the public that all possible alternatives have been studied and this is the best solution, and one to screw the bulb into the faucet.

What?
No taskforce to travel the world to study how different societies do it?
No comittee to discuss the environmental impact?
I wish it only took 2.

It takes 3,1 to hold the light bulb and 2 to turn the ladder.

Well if I were an American I would be happy if the congressmen traveled in pairs changing light bulbs. Then, at least, you would be able to see them doing something.

It takes 50% plus 1 of the congressmen present to pass the bill that changes the light bulb from YOUR light bulb to THEIR light bulb. I thought you all knew that.

Hey, they changed all our incandescent lights which we have used since our grandparents' day into compact florescent lamps after all.

(By the way I got that 50%+1 basically from the joke "how many lawyers" one of the answers was "Just one, from yours to his" I modified to fit congress).

At least 50% +1 of the people voting of course. (Even if they are dead already, old political joke).

Hey, as Douglass Adams put it,, Wel why do you vote for them then? Would you want the OTHER GUY's LIZARD TO WIN?

(Hitchicker's guide to the Galaxy)

Lots of jokes out there about politicians... And I would hate for anyone to think i'm being serious in this thread. It just fit the subject line too well to be overlooked.

For the humor impaired. 50%+1 is what is called a simple majority, that is the minimum (Actually 50% + 1/2) needed to pass a bill or elect a congress critter or, well most anything in Government. That, and this paragraph are the only serious parts of my posts in this thread, all else is humor.

Always with the Congressmen! Why let Senators off the hook???

I've got one:

Quote:
Question:

Why is it that the House has a "Foreign Affairs Committee", but the Senate has a "Foreign Relations Committee"?

Answer:

Senators are too old to have affairs.
