We see job ads in our local paper with the words "Bi-lingual required". It usually means English/Spanish but it's rarely specified.

I called up one advertiser and said "I'm bi-lingual in English and Welsh, originally from a small village called Llanfairpwllgwyngichgogwrychwrndobllllantisiliogog ogoch" That wasn't what they needed.

BTW, there shouldn't be a space anywhere in the word, but I can't edit it out.

Some places it's difficult to get a job if not bilingual of English/Spanish speaking...

You would think that after 50 years I would have learned a little.

If English doesn't work on my wife, it's time to shut up. No second language necessary here...
