Went I was much younger my parents used to take their little dog lady with them. So a buddy and I went camping with them. After a few drinks my friend fell asleep in a camping chair I was about 10 feet away in a hamack. Well it was about 2:00 am I hear nice lady good lady hey you are not lady.then all this noise as the camping chair broke. As I wake up and look over a skunk had crawled up on him and he was petting the skunk thinking it was the dog. Lucky for him the skunk did not spray him. I never laughed so hard in my life. That happened at lake Folsom.

a friend of mine had a pet skunk named Lenny. one day they were playing on the floor of his apartment and he found out that Lenny had *not* , in fact, been de-scented, as he was told when he bought him. oops!

I got sprayed once close up while coon hunting, still remember being ever so sick. When I got home the humiliation continued. My Aunt made both me and my cousin strip in the back yard, in January no less. Then took a bath in a wash tub, and rinsed with tomato juice. She burned our clothes_.
So I can pretty well picture the guys reaction.

It was the funniest thing I have ever seen happens over 30 years. But when I think about it was yesterday. Seeing this skunk on his chest petting it.
Maybe one too many drinks that night.

On another story when I was a kid we used to go to lake Shasta every year to dirt camp. We had a beagle dog named Barney. While on a walk the dog took off into a camp site. Me and my brothers kept calling Barney to come and he did with a 10 pound salami in his mouth. We took it out of his mouth ran to the camp site put in on the table teeth marks and all...and ran back to our tent.

I was about 16, and descented baby skunks were the rage. It was illegal, but a small town and the local vet payed good $$ for the babies. My brother & I, along with 'the dog' hunted at night for the skunk dens when 'Mama' was out hunting. We did OK for awhile........ One night 'Mama' came back while we were bagging the babies. Our Mama wouldn't let us in the house for days. I hung out at the lake and spent so much time in the water I was like a prune, but the smell did go away. Little brother got scrubbed with yellow soap and rinsed with tomato juice and still smelled.
