I wonder if some can differentiate between 'built in' and 'assembled in?' I have a friend who worked in a Japanese car plant in the states and he said everything came in containers from Japan and the only value added was the assembly process.

Albeit this was years ago before we retired so it may have changed since then but with Japanese protectionism still rampant I would guess this is still the rule.
