I have used the pythagorean theorem many times since high school but never used the parallel thingy even though concious of it. Measuring corner to corner to square things of course and often the 3/4/5 method to square things too.

Schools do need to have more practical things such as shop classes. I had some great teachers and even one that taught us how to fold a map. Ok, I'm dating myself on this one but it was a useful tool.

A friend bought a new truck, was bigger than his old one. Would still fit in the building, but had to be in just the right spot to the rest of shop. His son and son's friend where talking of light beams, sensors, whatever to guide him in. I asked if it was where he wanted it. Yes. Picked up old bird house and saw, cut most of bottom, and a bigger hole in front. Added a chain to front and rear of roof. Set the little house on hood, had the kids hook chain to rafters. Just run that Bulldog in house, and your home.

Am I the only one that worked a lifetime and never wrote one?
I took a offer on my truck, but needed to work another year.. Saw sign on a dump truck company, walked in, asked for the owner. Was told he was out, what did I want. I'm a driver. She handed me this book, 7-8 big pages, "Fill this out, and put it in that box" I started reading, didn't get past the first page. Asked her if she had a post-it. Printed Scooby Doo and my cell number, stuck to app, put in the box. Before I got home fone rang. Owner "Why didn't you fill out?" You want to put me to work I'll fill out what you need to know. If not might as well save the tree. After first day of work I filled in the blanks for taxes, regulations, and insurance. About once a month one of the office drones, would tell me I needed to fill out the rest.
