I felt like that more than once! Makes me wonder what will happen when our kids are the parents (they are old enough now but not parents yet), and their kids have the newfangled media devices. Maybe a device that can read your mind? THAT would not be good if I was still sitting at the table. . .

Thanks for the video, Dennis!

Excellent video....My Grandkids don't do that, at least at my house....they both were texting at the table...I got up and picked up both of there diner plates....they couldn't believe it...as I said...." I actually thought you came over for dinner, perhaps you both can find the time to eat later", as I sat both plates on the counter.".....Then they put the phones away, asked can we eat now...Yep and feel free to join in in good conversation.....
Now when they come over and there phone go's off, they just laugh and say , I will call them back later.....usually they turn it off.

I have two grand daughters (sisters) who don't know what to say to each other verbally but can spend hours texting each other. Different generation. At dinner a while back my wife took the phones and they were shocked that she would do that. They don't bring phones to our table now. A different grand daughter takes her cell phone into the shower in a zip lock bag. Now that's bad in my way of thinking but cell phones in a ziplock in the shower might be funny to someone - like her parents.

If the video wasn't so funny it might be kind of sad........On a recent (rare-for-me) trip to McDonalds I noticed what looked like a mom, dad, a couple kids and a couple of kid's friends sitting at a table eating all the while each of them, kids and "grown-ups" alike with their noses buried in their own separate portable devise. Not one of them saying a word to anyone else the whole time I was there............
