Here is a ringtail cat that i filmed earlier this year while eating dinner at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Natl.Park.
It was my parent's 50th wedding Anniversary in January, and we were chowing down in the main dining hall, when my brother Paul saw this thing running along the upper wood beams of the Hotel. We filmed it with a nightview camera.

The Hotel staff told us the thing is esentially impossible to catch, is a permanent fixture of the Hotel, and that very few people ever see it anyway. We happened to not only see it, but had a camera with us capable of shooting in darkness (my brother is a gadget freak.)
RingTail in Yosemite
(We camped at Yosemite many times a year as kids 40 years ago, and this was my folks dream to have us all back there united for their 50th.)

We have ringtails here on the ranch in SW Texas. They are elusive and not seen much (then only at night). Some of the other shy critters here are the red & grey fox, and the mountain lions. The fox and ringtails, we see 3-4 times a year; the moutain lion, we have seen twice in ten years. Our common critters are coons, rabbits, porcupines, deer, turkey, javalina, ferrel hogs, squirrels, armadillos. Several places close by have exotic species including kangaroos. Lord help us if a kangaroo ever crosses with a jack rabbit.

By the way, that was a neat video!
