Road Construction Humor....
Our engineer at my company (we are a bridge/civil construction company) found this very funny but sometimes seemingly true captioned picture....thought I'd share!!

Well. They may have gone over to the other road but it's unlikely they started working  . We used to take turns counting how many " workers
" we're leaning on their shovels or scratching their heads.

Kurt it's just a humor light hearted thing.
Everyone knows construction is always longer than expected and its part of life.
Remember the movie Money Pit, "two weeks" Mom loved that movie.
Anyway, don't take it to heart, its meant to be funny not a slap at anyone, I'm in construction and I'm the first to be able to laugh at it. Not because the workers fault, usually rules, OSHA, and the plans and specs of the job, but very few know that.

My way of thinking: If you are going to resurface a bunch of roads, Do the ODD numbered mile roads one year and the EVEN ones the next year.
DOT's way of thinking: DO ALL OF THEM at one time.
Better still: Let bids, accept lowest bid.. (Too low as it turned out) Company gets half way through the road rebuild (this means it was all tore to 7734) (Some folks will get that). and files for bankruptcy.. Take 2 more years to get a congressional act passed, ask for and review and select a new bid to finish the job.

I hear all shirt pockets on the road crews will be taken off, turned upside down and re sewn on shirt so they will have a place to put their shovel handles when they are standing up sleeping so they won't fall down.
What's orange and comfortably sleeps three...A state DOT pickup....

Hey Kurt, I get the logistics and other reasons for working on 2 projects at once. However, it does not make it less frustrating when trying to get somewhere!

Sorry for any offense. I managed the building of roads, bridges and airports for 30 years. Been there - done that. It was always good to have a laught at oneself otherwise the pressure and the time committments would drive you crazy. Not to mention the late arrival from the suppliers.

Or better yet to the odd mile markers one year and the even mile markers the next year.
Two seasons - winter and construction.
