My grandfather used to say: "Whatever is to be will be whether it comes to pass or not"

My thought is he was thinking there's lots of things we have no control over so don't worry about them.

Don't forget the great Yogi Berra.

1. When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

2. You can observe a lot by just watching.

3. It ain’t over till it’s over.

4. It’s like déjà vu all over again.

5. No one goes there nowadays, it’s too crowded.

6. Baseball is 90% mental and the other half is physical.

7. A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.

8. Always go to other people’s funerals, otherwise they won’t come to yours.

9. We made too many wrong mistakes.

10. Congratulations. I knew the record would stand until it was broken.

And many many more !!!!!

when they passed out noses you thought they said hoses and asked for a long one.

When they passed out ears you thought they said beers and you asked for two big ones.

When they passed out brains you thought they said trains and said you didn't want any.

When someone is setting up an unsafe climbing arrangement, "if you fall and break your leg, don't come running to me!"

Or when discussing a boorish bragging person, "the emptiest barrel makes the most noise!"

I think #3 is by Billy Martin, but a good one never the less.
