Talking "SPRING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER" says the only TRUE groundhog

You are listening to the wrong Groundhog!!!! I live in Quarryville Pa and belong to the Slumbering Groundhog Lodge. The first observance was started by a hardware store owner named William Hensel in 1908. The Slumbering Groundhog of Quarryville has been making 100% accurate predictions since then.
Our Lodge has roughly 220 members and at our lodge we have assigned squads who station themselves around brown holes for the observance very early in the morning( February the twoth ) in order to make an accurate prediction. Beginning the night before, they train intensely by looking down the necks of brown bottles (after emptying them of course). Yesterday, Octoraro Orphie did come out and did not see his shadow therefore making the prediction (“SPRING IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER”)

Spring is coming: Octoraro Orphie makes his yearly pronouncement, defying Phil's forecast - LancasterOnline: Local News

Incidentally, we consider Punxsutawney Phil to be a ‘johnny come lately’ imposter and is only acknowledged in our lodge with his name taped on the inside of our urinals.
As you may have guessed, our lodge is dedicated to laughing at ourselves and having fun. Not promoting our town. If you watch the clip, you will see that our Stage on Groundhog day is an old manure spreader.

Most important day of the year in Quarryville Pa—Groundhog Day

One hundred and six years ago some upstanding citizens of a small town in Lancaster county Pennsylvania, declared to the world that their groundhog had seen his shadow. Thereby predicting that there would be six more weeks of winter.

Since then the members of Quarryville’s Slumbering Groundhog Lodge have faithfully gathered every year to observe Orphie and his extended family then give their reports to the Hibernating governor. The current hibernating governor is Rick Rankin who is also the CEO of one of Lancaster County’s largest and most respected insurance agencies.

According to German folklore, if the groundhog emerges from his burrow and sees his shadow, he will retreat underground and there will be “six more weeks of winter”. If the groundhog does not see his shadow “spring will be right around the corner”. The fun continues as the lodge members read how the media twists and adds to the prognostication . This morning Governor Rankin announced that "Spring is right around the corner". The announcement was made from atop the Pinnacle of Prognostication which was made from an old manure spreader.

Although other groundhogs, like the publicity seeking Punxsutawney Phil, claim to represent the groundhogs of the world, OCTORARO ORPHIE is the accepted official representive of his breed. Quarryville Pa is proud to be able to state with certainty that Orphie has NEVER been wrong in his one hundred and six year history and is the only animal to have a day on the calendar named in his honor.
Guess we will have to wait about 6 weeks (March 20th to be exact) to see if he is right again.

(Most people just don't get it.)
