Stop Ahead????

This still confuses me. Often I see signs a short distance before an intersection that say "STOP AHEAD"

Stop ahead of what??? The next sign? The intersection? Ahead of what???

LOL
Most people around here use the STOP signs as a suggestion at best!

"Watch for Falling Rocks"
I wish they would find that Indian named "Falling Rocks" :-)
I've looked for him all over the country.

I just had to take a written drivers exam in California because after 70 everyone has to take it.

Thought I would die laughing when I read in the drivers manual...."Green means go."

How many times have you sat behind some doof playing with his cellphone at a traffic light and said "Green means go!!!"

We were in Mexico a couple of years ago. Our driver on a sightseeing trip regularly ran stop signs. When I asked him about the practice, his reply was "no cop, no stop".

These signs are posted when there is a stop sign ahead which is not clearly visible due to foliage, hills, curves in the road or some other obstruction to vision. It is a warning that you are approaching a stop sign.

I've seen Falling Rock Zone and Fallen Rock Zone signs along the roads.

I'm thinking for one, you look up and the other you look down.

I think "slow children" is just so sad.
