I heard that, and I still maintain DFW is the hottest part of the state, not always in temperature, but THI or feels like, WOW it gets hot....but we're used to it. I just stay in, in the office, or in a friend's pool on weekends. Only way to deal with it.....
The first year I moved here from Co. Spgs, I thought I had moved into a steam oven. I couldn't hardly bear the heat and humidity that first year. The second was about the same, then it got a little better the third and now its just part of life. But, yes, if you aren't used to it, it is miserable!!
