We always do a google earth view of campgrounds before we stay. Years ago I remember pulling into a KOA and using a pull-through site. There was barely enough "grass" for the picnic table (which was right by the next-door sewer/water hookup) gross. Had I been able to research... There's an idea...Oyster for RVers! (if you're not aware of Oyster, they have very candid reviews of hotels including fun photos much like yours!)

This was actually at a rally we attended & completely expected. But the juxtaposition of the port-a-pots to where we were placed just seemed to be a perfect opportunity to show exactly like how a lot of campgrounds crop their photos they post on their websites to make their sites appear better than they really are.

One of my pet peeves are RV park web sites with a "photo gallery" that shows dozens of photos of people swimming, enjoying some party, the campground store, no photos of the actual RV park sites. I use the web site to try and determine if its a suitable place for us and our RV, not to see photos of people I don't know.

Those photos, just like hotel/motel photos, were taken when the property was new and rarely reflect the aged, worn, run down or neglected current condition.

Face it ... "buying" anything based on pictures alone is a recipe for disaster. Shame on the seller for using "tricks" (photoshop, creating cropping, out of date pictures, wide angle lenses, etc.) to cover up the "warts" .... but on the same token, shame on the buyer for swallowing the seller's BS hook, line and sinker.

Agreed ... and when I scour a campground web site - and can't find any pictures of campsites themselves (or find nothing but closeups of fire pits) ... my spidey senses go nutz and I assume there's a good reason that the pictures I'm looking for are nowhere to be found.

Agree. If no photos of sites I'll move on.
