The Shoe Box

A elderly couple being happily married. For a full 60 years has been thru the thick and thin of things, they agreed when they married they would be totally honest with one another and share no secrets..."except one......she would keep a shoe box in the closet and the husband would never open it. He being a man of his word agreed. As time went on the lady fell ill and was hospitilized, the doctor broke the news to both of them things were not looking favorable for her, she accepted his diagnosis and instructed her husband to go home, get the shoe box and bring it to her. When he returned to her room she told him it was ok and instructed him to open the shoe box. Upon opening it he discovered $95,000.00 and two crochet dolls, the wife said now let me explain!!!! When we married my grandmother said when we got into a argument to knit a crochet doll, the husband began to tear up, realizing being married for 6 decades and ONLY TWO dolls were in the shoe box, we'll that explains that but what about the $95,000.00 dollars????

That is the proceeds for selling all the other dolls I made.

Reminds me of a story that I heard.

A wife is cleaning out the attic and finds a shoebox with 3 golf balls and a big wad of cash. She thinks it's strange because neither she nor her husband play golf, and they don't have any kids. She decides to ask her husband about it when he comes home from work.

After dinner she remembers to ask him about the box. He says "honey, I've got something to confess. We've been married for over 25 years, and I'm so embarrassed to admit that I have been unfaithful a few times. And when I would come home those nights, I felt so ashamed and guilty that I would go for a walk in the woods near the golf course. I would walk until I found a golf ball, then come home and put it in the box. I am so sorry. Can you ever forgive me?
She thought about it for awhile. He had been a good husband over all those years, and it was only three times. She was not at all happy about it, but she loved him enough that she could forgive the three transgressions. "Ok, I love you and I will forgive you. But tell me, where did all the money come from?"

"Oh, every time I collected a dozen, I sold them to the Pro Shop!"
