Todays 18 year olds

This is pretty sad!

In a Seattle Washington college classroom, they were discussing the
qualifications to be President of the United States . It was pretty simple -
the candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of age.

However, one girl in the class immediately started in on how unfair was the
requirement to be a natural born citizen. In short, her opinion was that this
requirement prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.
The class was taking it in and letting her rant, but everyone's jaw hit the floor
when she wrapped up her argument by stating,

'What makes a natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country
than one born by C-section?'
Yep, these are the 18 year olds that just voted for the President of the United States !

That is too funny. In the 70s they lowered the drinking age and voting age. They raised the drinking age. I'm in favor of raising the voter age just for the reason of the student. They haven't a clue.
Thanks for making me smile

The problem is that though it sounds funny.. it's not funny in the least.. As the O/P said it is a sad state of affiars when an 18 year old does not know what "Natural Born citizen" means.

Or where the state of (Any state save confusion) is. (I recently took a test where they gave you the outline of a state and let you place it.. I did well, over 80% Most of the errors were small Though I do admit on one state I could not even see the tiny spot where it went (Small screen on netbook) might have found it on a 21" monitor).

I have also seen folks answer a "What state" question with the name of a City.. Ok if it's New York but generally not the proper answer.
Home is where I park it!

And that's not even the sad part. She'd probably feel the same about allowing non naturally born citizens even if she knew what naturally born meant.

And people wonder why we're in the sad, sad state we're in today.

KIRO TV in Seattle did an interview with high school kids in Plympia and asked them several questions about the state legislature. One of the questions was "What is the name of the capital of Washington State?" The reporter claimed that over 60% of the students asked didn't know the state capital.

Years ago on a game show where you answered the questions to reach the millon dollars the contestant was a school.teacher and needed to use a lifeline to answer the first question.

Which way does the neefle point in the compass?

Watch Leno when he asks "simple " questions, very sad state of afairs!

Really people......seriously???
There is a reason this is in a jokes forum......it's a joke.
I've gotten that joke in emails using at least 5 cities.
It's a joke.

The capital of WA is Olympia, not Plympia.
Guess you shouldn't be making fun of others, huh?

And here it is as a joke (hopefully) newspaper editorial.
